A worldwide computer infection known as Conficker.C has been slowly infecting government and pesonal computer networks across the globe. It has been appearing since October of 2008 and has an infected over 15 million computers. You probably haven’t noticed. Not a big deal… it hasn’t affected you yet.
Well, Some call it a trogian, some call it a virus. CNN coined the term “sleeper cell virus”, and that’s exactly what it is.
On April 1, 2009, Conficker, which means configuration fuck in Gernan, will be turned on. It will allegedly wreak lots of havoc upon the internet world. Everything from DNS updates to Windows DLL overrides will take place in a simultaneous attack.
This is a big deal. Microsoft Corporation is offering $5,000,000 to anyone who can identify the creator of this virus.
Worried about your network?
To test your network for Conficker.C, run the following Command for nmap:
nmap -PN -T4 -p139,445 -n -v --script=smb-check-vulns --script-args safe=1 [insert router ip here]-255
Before your eyes will stream a list of all the computers on your network and the infection status of each of them.
Here are the Exact details on Conficker.c.
Maybe now, the world will switch to *nix operating systems.
There are winds of change everywhere! From the political arena to the geek scene
everything seems to catch that phrase “Change is Always Good” and so it is. There is a high probability that Google is going to announce support for Java on their http://www.programmerfish.com/category/app-engine-google/’ target=’_blank’>http://www.programmerfish.com/category/app-engine-google/’ target=’_blank’>App Engine and when it happens, it’s going to create a gold rush for sure keeping in view the Java community, the ease of use and most of all the reliability is gives to the application. All these things combines will create an explosive combination! It will of course be warmly received by the industry and there are developers like me who are waiting for Java Support since like ages now…
Is it not becoming more of a “BiasedCrunch” rather then what it actually started as, a place for crunching startups and everything related to them. But recently, am sure you people would also have noticed, it has become more of a place to advertise third-grade startups (and you know what’s the way to get a review for your third grade startup: Pay them!) and this is something which Michael bashed about not too long ago when someone contacted him to offer an incentive to promote his rubbish and Michael went way too far but I think it was more of a Media exercise rather then a real practice.
For desktop development of low performance PCs that can’t run WPF forms smoothly, or just for simplicity, programmers opt for Windows Forms. But one can’t deny the coolness of WPF controls. How about an application that uses WPF controls in Windows Forms application? The advantage is performance of Windows Forms on low end PCs and WPF controls are shown when needed.
In this tutorial we will make a simple windows form application that uses the Data Grid control of WPF toolkit in a Windows Form application.

Do you know that Semantic Web is the next generation of web? Semantic web is a technology/concept that gives ‘computer understandable’ meaning to the web content. By this, that data can be easily processed by systems like artificial intelligence, behavior targeting and filters etc. This video explains what exactly semantic web is and how it is going to change the web:

Microsoft has announced Silverlight 3 details at MIX09. New version of Silverlight has got great improvements with support of being able run out of the browser. And now Silverlight out of the web browser applications can run on Mac OSX too. This creates strong competition for Adobe Air.

The biggest and most irritating challenge for a web developer today is to face the compatibility issues across multiple browsers and solving them. Expression Web SuperPreview is a tool coming with Expression Web 3 that enables web designers to check compatibility of their web sites in multiple browsers. It allows to debug the lags easily that are causing incompatibility.
Right now it’s only available for Internet Explorer: You can try by checking compatibility of your website in IE 7 and IE 8 with the version that is available right now.

ASP.NET AJAX 4.0 Preview 4 has been announced with new exciting features . ASP.NET AJAX can be leveraged in a complete client-side environment, to easily develop rich web applications. Video demonstrates the new client templates, data binding and command bubbling behavior that makes creating data-centric applications using JavaScript simpler. Also ADO.NET Data Services integration which makes performing CRUD operations, complete with change-tracking, very trivial.

Being the programmers that we are, design isn’t always listed as one of our stronger abilities. Every programmer should have a sense of design, however. Otherwise, every application you would ever use would be far less useful and be much less appealing. Aesthetics is everything.
