We all know the big names and the languages floating around but do we rea
lly know how they all started? The very first Fortran manual published in 1956? Or the C reference manual that Dennis Ritchie released to the research community in 1976? Or the Ethernet patent filed in 1975? These are all historic documents that must be kept in a Computer Science Museum – do we have one yet? – The list contains documents ranging from Programming Languages to Software Systems to Architecture and Networks. You might have never seen any of them but you know all the big names founded on them. You sure have to take a look!
You probably might be wondering what the title really means and if you haven’
t yet read the news about how UK police officers are on the hunt for past offenders (typically young blacks) not for interrogation or trying them in courts but only because their DNA’s will ‘enrich’ the national DNA database. You thought it was a joke? No, this is happening in the broad daylight while civil rights is fast asleep. Sorry but I can’t hold back but be biased.
With so many websites offering service providers and employers to get connected and do work, it has virtually unleashed a whole new area for the rapidly shrinking global m
arket. Freelancing is fun especially when you need some extra bucks to keep you afloat. After all, who does not like to set his/her own working hours and be your own boss? These are just some of the popular (and truly so) slogans of ‘working from home’ – something that has transformed the lives of millions across the world wide web.

The goal of this book is to help developers and solution architects build effective, high quality applications on the Microsoft platform and the .NET Framework more
quickly and with less risk by leveraging tried and trusted architecture and design
principles and patterns.
The book provides an overview of the underlying principles and patterns that provide a solid foundation for good application architecture and design. On top of this foundation, the guide provides generally applicable guidance for partitioning an application’s functionality into layers, components, and services. It goes on to provide guidance on identifying and addressing the key design characteristics of the solution and the key quality attributes and crosscutting concerns. The guide builds still further and provides guidance that is more specific on the architecture and design of the most common application types, such as Web, rich Internet applications (RIA), rich client, services, and mobile applications.
Bigger players are finally entering the Android apps market in hordes and probably the
re’s a strong reason for that. When it comes to Twitter clients for Smart phones, Seesmic is definitely a well known name. Today they have announced their Twitter client for Android phones.
The title seems pretty explanatory after all and I don’t need to put in some more words explaining what it really means. Let’s start with the need of viewing the mobile vers
ion of a website? Well, there can be several reasons for that. Developers usually have to be sure that their site is loading right in the mobile devices or else they’re losing thousands or possibly millions of smartphone users that they otherwise might have got. We usually have to make sure that our mobile version is fast, simple layout with great UX or else it’s of no use because no one wants to render a complete heavy web version into their mobile devices.
Who doesn’t love free stuff? I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t especially w
hen you are getting something you really want for free! Who said web is all cruel market? There are people who want to give away things they no more require and then there are others who want those things but couldn’t buy or don’t want to buy. Now with Listia.com you can do exactly that. It’s like eBay of free stuff online where the only currency they quote is ‘credits’ which you accumulate by giving away things that you don’t need.
