Linux on iPhone has some really interesting updates: Work on porting Android OS to iPhone 3G is now almost complete and the release of the binaries and the procedure on how to port Android OS to your iPhone 3G will be available by next week hopefully.

To make Android OS a viable alternative for iDevices, power management and support for all the core functions like calling, sound and WLAN etc have to be tuned and it should not be a drain on the battery too. The guy behind this effort all this effort has announced that binaries for the 3G and iPod touch port will be released simultaneously sometime next week. He is busy in optimizing the port to make it easier for everyone.
