Before we know it, they were all sold out. Probably this is the reason why Apple has pulled the plug off Apple Store? Philip Elmer-DeWitt has reported that till Friday night when the Apple Store was still UP, if you wanted to pre-order iPad, you were shown 12th April as the delivery date instead of 3rd April. Those who have pre-ordered before will get their iPad by 3rd April though.

According to some conservative estimates, Apple has already sold more then 500,000 iPad devices. This is a small figure to run out so quickly. Anyways, here’s the screenshot of Apple Store showing 12th April as the delivery date:

Moreover, you cannot reserve an iPad to be picked up from any near-by Apple Store anymore because the option has been scrapped from Apple Store altogether.

Could this be the reason why Apple has taken down Apple Store on a weekend night?
