That is right, as promised, the Evad3r have released the jailbreak for iOS 6.1 for Pre A5 devices. The list includes iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4 and iPod 2,3,4. The jailbreak was released as soon as the OS was made public. But, before you get all excited, the jailbreak is tethered which means that if your device shut’s down, you would have to plug it into redsn0w and select “boot tethered” option. In addition to this news, the jailbreak isn’t compatible to the new devices i.e. the iphone 4s and iPhone 5 and the variations of iPad’s.

Apple has officially released iOS 6.1 for the capable devices. The list includes iPhone 3gs to iPhone 5, iPod touch 2 to the new iPod and from iPad original to the iPad 4 and of course the iPad mini. The update had been in works for quite a long time and it wasn't even available to those who didn't bother coughing $99 for the developer release. Anyways, as it goes, the minor update is now officially out and if you were expecting a bucket loads of new features then you might be disappointed.

One of the things that i like about android is that the application’s allow you to do great modifications. On iOS, you had to jailbreak your device even for the slightest modification, but, android is a little more friendly. Recently when browsing the internet i came across a wonderful app. Tasker for android let’s you schedule tons of activities without moving a muscle. Most of you would have known of this app, but for those of you who dont – it is a must try.

A year ago the famous file sharing and uploading website plummeted. Megaupload was a web service used by thousands which provided download access to terra bytes of files. United state’s Government wasn’t too happy about it and they shut it down on countless accounts of copyrights infringement cases. SOPA filed a case against Kim Dotcom, the owner and entrepreneur behind the site – leaving him behind the bars. He got out and charges were dropped against him, he promised that he will come back to the world of file upload and after exactly one year – he is back with a new service, mega.co.nz.

Remember the game where you had to control a running character dodge obstacles while collecting coins? Well of course you do. Most of us who own a Smartphone must know about the famous Temple run. It reigned the top charts for games for ages, and now, an updated version named Temple run 2 has been released to take it’s place. With over 170 million downloads of the original title since launch, temple run 2 promises to keep the integrity alive. The good news is that it hadn't been taken over by some other company, no sir. The same development team as before has developed this game and seems as fun to play as the original one.

The new title gets the same infinite runner theme as the bigger brother. With constant trips, jumps, smashes and those awkward crashes the game promises to keep you hocked on. Graphics have received a major update and looks more refined than ever. The best news is that the developers have also pumped up the game play an now you must face new obstacles and heck even roller coasters.

Temple run 2

In the original game there were no levels. You could just increase the power-up’s power and increase the score per coin collect. Things have changed in Temple run 2 and now each character will bare it’s own special ability. Plus, the mazes and the intense obstacles make the game even more exciting. The game also brings a new set of achievements and game center integration for iOS. The game as mentioned above is free to download like the original title. With new interface, refreshed gameplay and more features, we wonder if it will dethrone the original title.

Application is available for almost all iDevices which temple run supported. The game is optimized for iPhone 5 and that extended screen just might help you to view extra obstacles (enter poor joke).

A week ago we reported that the famous installous rep shut down. It came as a shock to many user’s since they relied on it to get their daily dose of applications. Installous went down suggesting that the forums were being left un attended by the audience and was a bit of a hassle to keep them alive. Which was hardly the case because thousands of people participated in the forum’s daily. Anyways, we can’t bring it back, and since the newer iOS iterations are proving impossible to jailbreak, it doesn't matter much. But, you can’t keep everyone away from exploiting new loop holes and in result a new application has showed up on the scene named Kuaiyong.

There is running away from the fact that a lot of use use torrent service in our daily lives. Most of us use it to download files to see if they are worth purchasing. Torrent service has been criticized and came under fire when SOPA took initiative. SOPA died but torrent’s lived on. Torrent’s aren’t essentially ‘catch free’, you can get heavily fined for downloading torrent files. The most annoying thing about torrent’s however is the concept of ‘seeding’ and ‘peers’. You have to have a steady number of seeds and peers in order to get your download started. There is another service that can replace Torrents, its called Usenet.

Photoshop is without a doubt the leading photo manipulation software. It handles the vector graphics with ease and has an overwhelming support throughout the world. While there is much support, the thing which makes it amazing is the amount of plug-in’s it support. Even the older versions of Photoshop get’s treated with dozen’s of treats. Each year, Adobe beef’s up the support and launches a suite, while the prices might be stiff, the users still prefer it over the much cheaper options. That is the reason why this struck us as a surprising piece of information, yes, Photoshop has gone free (limited time).

A Smartphone OS is rated by the strength of it’s application support. Windows phone 8 for instance, it is a nice and smooth operating system and will offer almost the same features as iOS and Android, even more features perhaps, but it is not as popular as Android and iOS because of it’s lagging market place and app support. Android has quickly caught up with iOS, and it is now equitant to it if not better. The reason for android’s phenomenal success could be credited to the fact that it is ‘Open Source’, meaning anyone could easily contribute to it’s ever expanding market list. Such an example comes from a member of XDA, cyansmoker from the forums of android has released an app that would redefine how you ‘Multitask’ through your android device.

Ever since android was launched back in 2007, the app development always faced an issue. The issue being that the apps ran much smoother and faster on iOS platform than Android, and we are talking about the same apps built by the same development team. One of the reason could be that not all of android apps are truly “native”, they rely on Dalvik virtual machine to run, so there are tons of bridges and links which eventually takes you to the game. Even powerful devices, like Nexus 7 which boasts a Quad core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM face this issue.

One of the things i like about Touchwiz UI and Samsung is that they always gie you cherry picks. For instance in Samsung S3 there is S Voice, a Siri competitor, and then there are features like smart stay and smart rotate. Samsung advertised galaxy S3 based on these features and ever since i saw those ad’s i wanted those features on my phone too. Thankfully though, those features can be achieved through a small app called GMD smart rotate. The application utilizes your front facing camera, and if you dont have one then you are out of luck.

To begin with, we don't support piracy at all, but there is no running away from the fact that many amongst us who had a “jailbreak” device relied on installous or hackulous to get their daily dose of non Apple certified or cracked apps. For those of you who “buy” paid apps the name might not be familiar, but those who did, it was a worship place for them. The news might not affect iPhone 5 users though, because even after 3 months of it’s launch, the OS has not received it’s share of Jailbreak and it shows that Apple has been successful in making the new OS more secure and exploit less.

Weather you are new to iOS or been an old user, customizing iOS had been/will be a tough task for you. Without jail breaking your device, there isn’t much you could do. One of the first thing’s i did on my old iPhone when i got it was that i jailbreaked it, and the thing i did after that was that i installed an app “Make it mine” from cydia which allowed me to change the carrier description. The modification might not seem that massive but it’s these little joys that you like to show off if you have an iPhone. If you have a iPhone and don’t rely on jailbreak(s) then there is a method for you to change the carrier logo without it.

Do you have a dull and a boring Windows desktop? Do you want to spice things up? The great thing about windows is that you can customize it to it’s limits. There are tons of tools that would let you change elements from the boot screen to the login page wallpaper. But, sometimes it becomes hard to decide which tool to use, and some quite frankly are plain boring. If you have been facing an issue deciding which tool to download and use to customize then you can use Rain meter. Rain meter is a free utility with a lot of support on deviantart which essentially will be the source of your skins and add-ons.
