Google has launched voice based search services to some 400,000 Black berry
users in India. The service has been entirely developed by Google India’s engineering team but seems like its still in private beta as only 400k consumers can test it.
Google Voice Search works the same way as the normal google search except that you speak your search query and the top results are fetched. For example, if you are driving and want to know the nearest Pizza Hut
then simply log on to Google Voice Search from your Blackberry and say your search query like ‘pizza hut in xyz area’ and it will fetch the results!
But the biggest problem the engineers will face are the varied Indian accents. There is something typical about how Indians speak english and it has also been pinpointed by some comedians.
