If you have upgraded your iPhone or iPod touch to the latest firmware 3.1.3 without giving any heed to the repeated cries from the dev-team and the others that the updated firmware will create problems while jailbreaking and unlocking it. Luckily, you can now Jailbreak and Unlock your updated iPhone or iPod touch OS 3.1.3 with redsn0w 0.9.4 OR in this case, with Sn0wbreeze v1.4 which the ih8sn0w team released just a day ago to enable jailbreak for the updated firmware.

I myself had problem downloaded the latest Sn0wbreeze because of the slow server speed (it literally went down to 8kbps on a 1Mbps connection!)

This article is very misleading as there is no jailbreak solution for the iPhone 3GS on the 3.1.3 firmware. Sn0wbreeze just provides people who are on the 3.1.2 firmware and jailbroken to update the the 3.1.3 firmware without losing their jailbreak. You cant jailbreak your iPhone/iPod Touch if you are already on the 3.1.3 firmware. Get it right! lol

i downloaded 3.1.3 on itune without realising i would not be able to jailbreak or unlock. so i guess im stuck. will there be a way around this? can someone please help me?? will i ne able to unlock in the future?? please write back

buddy sean i tell u 2 dwnload the firmware 3.0 depends wh8ich country r u in or which iphone do u have
go 2 itunes put ur phone in recovery mode and press shift and restore locate the file and chillax ur dine cheers sonny

with the new Baseband you wont have any luck. There is no estimation if or when an unlock will be available. You can not downgrade the Baseband. (unless you would be one of the rare persons with bootloader 5.08 in there Device, very early 3G only)

You should get some important details right
1) the newest Version of sn0wbreeze is 1.4
2) If you updated to 3.1.3 with itunes, there is no way of getting a 3G or 3GS unlocked. Also the 3GS with a new bootrom will not be jailbroken or unlocked with sn0wbreeze. If you are already on 3.1.3 without a jailbreak, sn0wbreeze is not able to jailbreak your 3GS. And you can not Downgrade to 3.1.2 because of the Apple FW Signature Servers. Unless you have your ECID SHSHs saved on Sauriks Servers. So if you are on a 3.1.3 you are stuck
