Some of my friends at university were facing a stupid error while trying to use Windows CardSpace for a project. Whenever they try to start Windows CardSpace, they were getting this error.

They already installed everything required to run Windows CardSpace. This error was crazy for me but I got it fixed. The problem was the CardSpace service was disabled at windows startup. I don’t know how it got disabled but it can be fixed by these steps:

Go to Start ,type msconfig and press enter. If you are using Windows Vista then click continue when User Account Control window pops up. The System Configuration window will open.

Goto Services tab and make sure that Windows CardSpace service is checked. Click OK and restart the Computer.
