If this is true and it seems it is then Macworld Expo from 11th to 13 February will be beaming with excitement as Apple usually gathers steam for the annual event (This is the same event in which Apple announced iPhone). A French technology website “Nowhere Else” has claimed that they have got insider information from an Apple employee that the new MacBook Pro will be released today that is, 9th February 2010!

Someone has already benchmarked the new MacMook pro identified as “6,1” (expected to be released today) showing the specs and the immense added performance with the addition of Intel’s Core i7 M 620 processor with the clock speed of 2.66Ghz and  running Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Build 10C3067) which is still not shipped.

Here is the benchmark of the new MacBook pro with Core i7 processor:%tags

Even if the rumors are wrong about the benchmark or specs, MacBook pro does need an update and this is the best time for it since Macworld 2010 conference is going to start from today and the expo will run from 11th to 13th February 2010.

Update:

Best Buy has reportedly removed all their Macbook pro from their inventory system which further confirms the speculation that Apple is going to update their notebooks pretty soon if now today. Here are the screenshots posted on one of the forums showing the “deleted” status for the Macbook pro 13” and 15” models:
