Here’s the problem: NYC is demanding better coverage and lesser data congestion. What did AT&T do? Simple. They stopped selling iPhones in NYC. Now that is a quick solution. Problems arose when AT&T users started complaining about data congestion in NYC area. Reports first started coming in of customers unable to buy iPhone from the AT&T’s website when they punched in NYC zip codes.

This actually gives more of a credibility to the growing consumer demand for an imagealternate carrier for iPhone and since AT&T’s contract is ending right before the next WWDC planned for June 2010, we have all the more reason to expect Verizon landing the contract to sell the next generation of iPhones dubbed as iPhone 4G which are coming in the 2nd quarter of 2010.
