Google’s former seach index leader makes a competitor
A former Google employee(who worked as a search index leader) named Anna Patterson and her husband (Tom Costello) has launched a new search engine named cuil (Pronounced “cool”) .The two, president and CEO, respectively, met at Stanford. Russell Power is third co-founder, who also worked in google on search indexing, Web rankings and spam detection, is the vice president of Engineering.
Cuil indexes 120 billion Web pages and can provide results organized by ideas with complete privacy for users.(Google has lately discovered 1 trillion unique web pages but have not mentioned the number it indexes).
