Never had any problem using uNetbootin with my Sandisk Cruzer's either in XP, or Ubuntu.

Nice list of Apps, Conky is fun to use, not for the faint-hearted, or CLI-phobic though as the setup is done manually, rather than via a GUI. Gives you desktop a bit of a cool-factor without getting in the way.

These might all run fine on any Linux distro, but if the author only uses Ubuntu he might not know if it works in all Linux distros….
A few minor errors that only a Linux aficianado would be upset over. LOL

"Songbird is an attractive and adaptable music app for Ubuntu" No, Songbird is a multiOS application, not just Ubuntu, not just Linux.

In fact, nearly everything here will also be available for other versions of Linux, not JUST for Ubuntu.

FWIW, UNetBootin never wrote to my Sandisk Cruzer USB flashdrive; UNetBootin failed as a Windows app, failed in Linux under 2 distributions, no feedback from development team.

Anyways, thanks for the screenshots, some of these apps need a visual.

Where did you get the idea that Virtual Box provided XP with it? That would be strictly illegal. Virtual Box doesn't come with any OS on it.

Actually he didn’t say they were ‘ubuntu apps’ he said that these 10 apps boost ubuntu’s user experience, which is true. They do.

Everything I wanted to say has pretty much been said already. Linux, not just ubuntu. Guake for Gnome instead of yakuake for KDE. Cool list of aps, but it really doesn’t demonstrate any working knowledge of what most of them do. dislike
