Opera 10.5 has been released to the developer community to give it a try. Here is our quimageick verdict: It’s nothing you have seen before. With at least 3 times faster JS engine (benchmark given) and faster graphics library supporting complex graphics, it’s all set to shook the competitors once and for all. Well, now this sounds like bit of an exaggeration but much of it is true. Take a look yourself:

Opera 10.5 comes integrated with a new experimental JavaScript engine which processes at least 3 times more JS then the previous one. This is an exponential increase in performance and now with rich UI and JS being used almost in every design, this will definitely boost the performance. A benchmark on Firefox, Opera and IE will be on it’s way.

Here’s a quick list of amazing new features:

1) 3X Faster JavaScript Engine:

2) Support for Complex Graphics:

Vega is their new graphics engine with enhanced support for SVG. It’s still software based but there’s room for hardware acceleration which will most probably be GPU based (nVidia’s CUDA). We still don’t need it yet but with more graphics intensive browser based games flooding the market, we are definitely going to need GPU based acceleration sooner then later.

3) Enhanced CSS3 and HTML5 Support:

Support for CSS3 transitions and transforms and newer HTML5 features like the persistent storage comes with the integration of the new Presto 2.5

Give it a run yourself and we would love to hear your experiences and suggestions.
