It was nine years ago and 14 million searches performed per day but the coimagempany behind this all was still searching for success. Back then they had 3000 servers (called personal computers then) which handled 14 million search request each day and housed at two different locations: Exodus, San Jose and GlobalCenter, SunnyVale. Google was not the owner of these two Internet Providers which looks quite amazing, now in retrospect.

imageGoogle was living on funds it has raised which amounted to $25 million in 2000. They were still waiting for the messiah to turn profits for Google. But the best aspect of living on funds is that you still have the zeal to innovate which you somehow lose after you start turning in profits and this was happening with Google too as Sergey Brin noted: The number one goal "is to improve technology and the user experience." (2000).

And this really shook you up:

"Yes, we could make history, I guess," Brin sheepishly replies. Then, quickly, he peers out the window at another incoming plane. "Wow," he mutters.

It was of this unceasing amazement that Google was born.

I found this whole article dugg up from Forbes year 2000. Would recommend you to go through and revisit web’s Golden Times!
